The Community Event of the Year Provides Something for Everyone at the Camellia City Festival!

Come celebrate McDuffie County’s 150th Anniversary with Family Fun, Live Entertainment, Games, Craft Vendors, Fabulous Food and Fireworks. The Camellia City Festival is Saturday, October 23, 2021 beginning at 10 am until 7 pm in Downtown Thomson.  McDuffie County community volunteers are proud to organize this FREE family-friendly event. We anticipate over 100 vendors and over 3,000 attendees! The Thomson-McDuffie Government Complex grounds will host a variety of merchants, community organizations, local businesses, crafters, artists, health & wellness services, jewelry, book signings, and more. The Thomson Family YMCA will host a 5K race starting at 9 am to kick off this event.  Runners and walkers will receive a swag bag with a t-shirt to commemorate the occasion.  Winners of the 5K will be announced at the festival.  To register for the race, contact the Thomson Family YMCA at (706) 595-5615. Come with an appetite as the Camellia City Festival has a variety of culinary delights, along with live music and entertainment provided throughout the day.  We are excited to have local country music artist, Daniel E. Johnson as the headliner.   There will be a fireworks extravaganza taking place just after dark to finish the day with a huge bang!  Bring your chairs or blankets to sit on the lawn to watch the show. “The Camellia City Festival is the perfect place for people new and not-so-new to the area to discover the amazing things our community has to offer,” Debbie Jones, executive director of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce. “We are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteers to help showcase the best of our community while celebrating our county’s anniversary” The festival Committee wishes to thank their sponsors including Jimmy & Julie Plunkett, R.A. Dudley Nurseries, CSRA Home Health, McDuffie Podiatry & Wound Care, The Activities Council, Jefferson Energy Cooperative, Carter & Sloope, University Hospital McDuffie, First Baptist Church of Thomson, Two State Construction, Thomson Plastics, Georgia Power, Augusta Coating & Manufacturing, Cadence Bank, Regions Bank, and W&A Engineering.
